Who’s this for?
This is a 3 day open programme is for anyone who wants to increase their skills and influence when working with groups or teams. Public, voluntary or private sector practitioners welcome.
This innovative workshop will inspire, support, challenge, increase awareness, effectiveness, creativity and skills of anyone facilitating groups and/or leading teams. This course will use real experiences, creative activities, facilitated group and individual work, models and theories. A rich learning environment will be built offering fresh approaches and ideas to facilitation and leadership.
What will you learn?
Over the 3 days there will be:
- Exploration of group dynamics, considering how you and other people behave in groups and teams.
- Opportunities to review and develop your own facilitation and leadership style, ways to up your presence and impact.
- A chance to develop strategies to deal with situations and scenarios you find difficult.
- An overview of all that needs attending to when setting up and running groups and leading teams. Including Practicalities, processes and ethics.
How will we work?
We will draw on a range of delivery styles including: experiential and creative activities, reflective practice, working with the process of the group, skills training and practice, one to one coaching, theory and concept input.
Where?
The course will be held at the Pierian centre, Portland Square, Bristol www.pierian.co.uk, a beautiful old building situated in Portland Square, just at the end of the M32.
Who will facilitate?
Jenny Cook and Ruth Bradbrook. They have extensive experience of working together to facilitate individuals, groups and organisations. Their style is highly creative, challenging and supportive with a real sense of fun.
With a background of employment in senior positions in the public and voluntary sector Jenny and Ruth work as facilitators across all sectors.
Accreditation
This course and its facilitators, Jenny and Ruth, is accredited and supervised by the Institute for the Development of Human Potential (IDHP). The IDHP is an organisation that seeks to promote and further humanistic ideas, practices and skills. The humanistic way of working values people first, listens to individuals and works from the inside out, in conscious awareness of the diversity of family, work, social and political structures that shape our lives.
The IDHP works with groups and teams – looking at systems and practices and enabling businesses and organisations to develop holistic ways of working. And with individuals – developing awareness, understanding and an acceptance of self and others in order to release human potential both personally and professionally.
Cost
£500 which includes refreshments, lunch and all course materials.
We have some bursaries for voluntary organisations or other individuals who might otherwise not be able to access our courses.
